Challenges	There were 2 CBSE schools in the town before DPS – JC and both were low budget low on quality schools. It was challenging to bring in Quality Teachers from outside to a town where there were no after school LIFE for teachers. No decent houses available on rent for the teachers. Management then provided for accommodation for all the teachers in a gated community and also a mess for the teachers in the same community. This was a game changer and the school could get the best teachers. Thw town today has 8 CBSE schools however, DPS- JC is considered the best in the town. After 11 years of it’s initiation the school believes in the policy of continuous improvement and that is the reason why they command respect within the parent community of the town.

Background:

DPS – Janjgir Champa was the first greenfield school that LIFE EDUCARE got to setup after it’s incorporation. The promoters had shining academic background both at schooling and at higher education level. With a global background and a zeal to setup a quality school under the trust named after their late father – Ram Gopal Dewangan Memorial Society. Best was the ask from the promoters and LIFE tried to fulfill their expectation.

The whole project was built in less than 9 months. The biggest accomplishment that the school had in the first year was that it had 510 ten seats and on the first day of the school in July 2011, all 510 seats were full. The school started with 512 kids and the last two admissions were given under societal pressure. The main reason for this was the right offering at the right fee point. Feasibility study was a big eye opener for then new TEAM LIFE EDUCARE. Parent’s expectations from the upcoming school was not lesser fee but the highest academic delivery. No doubt in accepting that fact that LIFE DDUCARE also learn a lot of aspects of school formation in this process. The greatest joy what we got in this project is that the school is still associated with LIFE EDUCARE after 11 years of it’s existence and LIFE is still relevant to them as an organization.

LIFE’s Role and Tenure:

LIFE EDUCARE was a turnkey school setup consultant where we conducted feasibility study, architecture planning, resource planning, Principal and Teacher recruitment, setting up school systems, Teacher Training, School Branding & Promotion entrance examination planning, curriculum designing and necessary regulatory permissions. The School was Launched in July, 2011.

The School Discovery Exercise:

With a town that Just became a full fledged district. Local economy was primarily dependent upon agriculture, trading and Kosa silk weaving. The aspirations of the parents were high and the frustration to not have an appropriate school for their kids was clearly visible during the survey. The challenge what TEAM LIFE had to provide a school model that was sustainable for the promoter, beneficial for the students yet cost effective for the parents. We are glad that our first was and is the best for the Promoters and the parents of the town.
