Premium School with Quality Infrastructure (Big School of Small Town)
orth Karnataka is a backward area of the state where paying capacity is a problem, non-availability of trained & English speaking teachers locally, people not used to a progressive 21st century school.
Background:
LIFE EDUCARE entered the school project in February 2017 when the construction was in full swing, and the school was supposed to be launched in June, 2017. President of the School Ms. Madhuri Mudhol & Patron Mr. Murgesh Nirani onboarded LIFE with an objective to start the school on war footing. Bagalkot being a small town with limited resources, LIFE hired teachers from places like Bangalore, Hubli, Goa, Kolkata and Maharashtra. The client wanted to hire principal from a premium residential school in north. LIFE EDUCARE brought in Mr. Amit Singh who was then serving as the teacher and housemaster of Welham Boy’s School in Dehradun. We began the session in July 2017 with 103 students.
There was no clarity on the type of school that was to be built and the fee structure to be charged. While the session was about to start LIFE parallelly conducted a market research and planned the offerings as well as the positioning of the school.
LIFE’s Role and Tenure:
LIFE EDUCARE was primarily hired for recruitments, training, curriculum planning and admissions. However, the scope was increased to market study and affiliations too. LIFE was involved with the school from February 2017 to August 2019.
The School Discovery Exercise:
Bagalkot town did not have progressive schools. In our study we found that the five CBSE schools that were present there were academically focused with limited attention on holistic development of a child. LIFE helped Tejas International School in designing a customized curriculum for early years and a curriculum basis for the primary years. While the school was planned for 2000 kids, LIFE replanned the school for 1400 kids with premium facilities and academic delivery model that had scope of individual attention on each child.

LIFE taught me the golden sutra of building an organisation - 'Be a servant leader to your people'. LIFE also helped me learn the traits of a pedagogical leader. I could develop critical thinking , risk analysis, financial management and design thinking skills because of the training and guidance provided to me by team LIFE during my two years of stay at TEJAS INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL.
